Introduction
Exotic Rodentry is a specialist collection focused on the responsible keeping, breeding and study of unusual rodents, dwarf rats and small mammal species.
Our aim is to promote a deeper appreciation of rodents as intelligent, diverse and highly adapted mammals — through ethical husbandry, careful breeding projects, species education and conservation-minded awareness.

Welcome to Exotic Rodentry
Rodents are one of the most diverse and successful groups of mammals on Earth, yet they are often misunderstood or overlooked. At Exotic Rodentry, we aim to change that.
Our collection includes a range of exotic rodents, dwarf rats and small mammals, with a particular focus on species rarely seen in private collections. Through thoughtful husbandry, responsible breeding and educational content, we showcase the natural history, behaviour and specialist care requirements of these remarkable animals.
Whether you are an experienced keeper, a small mammal enthusiast, or simply curious about unusual species, Exotic Rodentry exists to educate, inform and inspire.
About the Collection
A Specialist Small Mammal Collection (With a focus on rodents)
Exotic Rodentry was established from a long-standing interest in rodents, natural history and responsible animal care. The collection has developed around species that are biologically interesting, behaviourally engaging and often underrepresented in mainstream animal keeping.
We currently work with a variety of species, including various spiny mice, deer mice, acacia rats, mouse-like hamsters, Spinifex hopping mice, lesser bamboo rats and other small mammals.
Every species is maintained with attention to natural behaviour, environmental enrichment, appropriate social structure and long-term welfare.
